(I think that one of the most striking things about this sequence is the care and concern that Odd lavishes on his dazed charge. He's always helping her, guiding her, supporting her with a hand -- not to mention risking his own life to get her out of the way of the onrushing ambulance. It's actually somewhat touching, especially since he professes not to like her (although I have always felt that "mayhaps he protesteth too much"....)

Sissi is as others have made her. I don't think her mother is around, I believe Sissi doesn't even remember her. Since students live on campus, I think the Principle would too, since he's responsible for the entire school. But when XANA attacks have happened at night, we see Jim and other caretakers, but never the Priniple.

Her father doesn't have time for her, but will do anything for her. I like the little signs he gives when he sees things going badly for her. You could tell he didn't like where Odds short film was going. She's grown up being told she's beautiful and being able to manipulate her father. This makes her selfcentered and vain. When others don't see her as the "best", it conflincts with her selfimage and makes her mad, she does have a "get even temper", and it's her worst trait. I think they write her as "less smart" than they should. Drawing sketches instead of doing a test and always getting bad grades doesn't seem right. She's far more clever than that, though getting distracted by shopping at a mall instead of drawing plants does seem like her. She has a very independent personality but wants acceptance of others, though she seems to be very competitive with other girls and needs all the attention.

Another thing to add: Sissi's dad never seems to have any time for Sissi. They rarely even TALK to one another, and if they do, its because Sissi approaches him. And when she does approach him, he usually says something along the lines of, "Sissi, dear, I'm very busy. Can it wait?" It seems as if the only people who will find any tome for Sissi at all are Herve and Nicolas.

You know, I think Sissi may just be afraid of being truthful to her feelings. I wanted to expand on that thought, but I can't for the life of me think of anything else to say.

For moi, Sissi is extremely depressing. She has everything she needs to have a delightful life, but she constantly ruins it with her self-destructive habits.

The way I'd like to see it handled is not having Sissi remember and there by change her character permanently, but as the gang see the other side of who she can be, they change how they treat her. As when Yumi gave her the SubSonic tickets to go with Ulrich. This thoroughly confuses how she has come to expect people to act. A little like Jim at the very end of Season 1.

They tried the idea a little in Season 1 The Trap when Ulrich said if they got out, he would be nicer to her. Then they never followed up in other shows. Just in Time had her worried to tears for Odd, Millie and Tamia (none of which she ever treated very nicely) trapped in the collapsing school. They went a little further in Season 2 when Yumi and Ulrich (I believe) told Millie that Sissi deep down, wasn't that bad, and ever cared more for Millie than she ever let on. In Ultimatum and Zombies, she shown more courage than she did in season one.

All this gives Sissi a deeply layered personality. On the surface a munipulitive primadonna that makes her so fun to watch being bad. While deepdown, even though the completely unusual like being chased by a mechanical movie monster will send her into screaming fits, she still has the strong will to stand her ground and help.

This makes her one of the most unusual characters of any show. Not nice, but not a fool nor rotten to the core.
