In False Start, why doesn't he remember, but the rest do?

Got bored, wanted to answer this.

The kids are the only ones that ever remember anything. That's just the way it is. ^_^

But I agree with exo, and have brought this up before too. The first part of Jimbo's experience with the factory and the Lyoko activities was BEFORE any point in time that the return to the past would reach back to. He overnighted in the factory, and I don't think the r.t.t.p. would go so far back before XANA's actual attack started, the next day.

But what do I know?... :sm27:

The TRUE answer is : Aelita chooses the ones who can remember things after the return to the past. Jim wasn't selected be Aelita ! :p

(Don't ask me where I heard that, I do not remember myself ! But I'm sure of it !)

Pure supposition. Please don't turn merely hypothetical ideas of some fans into "The Truth"...

The idea was given by Loïc:

I don't remember Mme S saying this...

Well, it's not like there are any better ideas, or ways to really prove other hypothosises. That word doesn't look right.

A writer's convenience.

So, yes, Pesme's memory was right after all ;-) To translate what Mme S. said:

“From my point of view, I call this decision a "licence poétique" ("writer's convenience" as Garooob said). But there's a more rational reason: it's Aelita who decides who must remember.”

But you'll notice that the first reason she gives is... no reason. Saying that Aelita chooses is just an easy answer and doesn't really solve the problem, because it doesn't say how she does it. Actually the whole "back to the past" thing is not very clear. In Season 2, Jérémie can go back even without deactivating any tower! No explanation on how it works is ever given. So I agree with the first answer: this is just a writer's convenience.

Yeah, I caught that too. She can put her hand on that floating screen and look up program listings(?) and status reports(?), but there is no provision for her to edit anything, and no indication that she has ever done so. There's no time for her to do anything once she has stopped an attack -- the RTTP starts immediately and is finished in a few seconds. :NRV:

Scince jim didn't have any link with the computer, the return to the past made him forget.

Jim doesn't remember anything because he was nescanned into Lyoko. The only reason the Lyoko Warriors remembr anything s because they have al been scanned (including Jeremy). That's why Jim doesn't remember anything.
