i was wondering about all of the forum sub-sections. it now looks like they need to be accessed directly, instead of through the links in the larger forums. i'm sure garoob can explain that to us.

My only suggestion about the newRear Window forum would be to move its icon up somewhere ABOVE the Suggestions icon on the index screen, where it will be better recognized as part of the chatting area. That would also get the window icon further away from the identical icon for the Fenetre. (Or not....)

Say, I'm disappointed to see that "Talking Room" has become one of those mongrel sub-forums which contain BOTH more sub-sub-forums and also some direct subjects. I have always felt that the direct subjects in this configuration are as good as lost, because people bring up (for instance) "Talking Room" and they see the list of sub-sub-forums, and never even realize there is also a list of direct subjects down below -- off the screen.

I think forums should only contain ONE species -- either a list of nested sub-forums OR a list of direct subjects, not both. Further, I feel that all of the direct subjects in "Talking Room" , like "Save the Teen Titans" and "Good News, Bad News", could and should be moved into "Between Us" where people will find them naturally.

One of the other members confided in a PM to me that he was outraged because the Xiaolin Showdown screenshots had been eliminated! But it was just that he couldn't find them. I just had a heck of a time trying to find them myself because I forgot where they were and DIDN'T SEE THE DIRECT SUBJECTS LIST BELOW THE SUB-FORUMS LIST. I'm tellin' ya, direct subjects that are positioned below a list of sub-forums are doomed. DOOMED, I say! Arghhhhhhh!

The thing that bugs me the most, and maybe it's not that big of a deal, is that the English and French sides are completely separated now. Before, when the Talking Room was French and English (though I know not many English speakers ventured there), I felt like it was more of a place to mingle. Now that there are two distinct sides, it seems like there are two different forums.

Well, yeah, but I don't get that much feeling of separation. Perhaps because I circulate comfortably in both parts, I don't feel there is any great barrier, and, as you say, the "bilingual" Salle de Discussion never has been much of a melting pot.

I think the thing that makes me comfortable is the fact that no-one gets upset when someone uses the "other" language in ANY of the areas -- français or anglais. I have been noticing which of the members are not too crazy about Uncle Sam, and even they do not seem to resent anglais very much. And many of the French kids use A LOT of English in their postes, avatars, and sigs. Anyhoo, let's just see how it goes for a while, hein?

Getting back to mongrel forums, I meant to mention above that there used to be a large set of direct subjects below one of the French forums, I believe under "Général", and someone has moved that out fairly recently, so someone up there must agree and be willing to help with ours. I might be mixed up on where that was, but I can't find it anymore. It had the same problem of no one seeing it most of the time....
