Yeah, I thought the voices sounded a bit different, but I chocked it up to not having watched it in a while.

Me too. I thought Jer's sounded slightly different (deeper? i can't really put my finger on it), but i attributed it to having forgotten exaclty what they sounded like in the first place, since it's been so long. Also, I've probably by now watched all the episodes more times in French than i have in English, so maybe i got used to the voices of the French voice-actors.
Anyway, it looks awesome! That new monster is great! it sort of looks like a spider, but it's so unstopable, they really had to struggle with it. i thought it was so funny with their reaction to having seen it for the first time. and the vehicles are cool too. I'm not sure, but i thought I saw at one point that Odd's vehicle got destroyed (hit by the monster and devirtualized?), but i don't remember, so i'll go back and rewatch that part. can't wait till it all comes out!

I've just been up in the French forum, trying to convince them that Jer's and Odd's voices are cool, but I'm sure I did not succeed.
-
I've always liked Jer's voice -- it seems to match his character, somehow.
-
(I'm feeling relaxed and talkative tonight -- probably even got into trouble in a few places. nyuk!)

lol , chauve souris, I'm not sure you'll manage, french people ( including I ) are used to hearing the jeremy's french voice and here , the change is too important . For frenches, it really gives him a stupid tone cause it is the first time we hear his voice . But , is the jeremy's voice a particular accent ( american or english, or other ) which really exists ?
however, after I have seen the video several times, the odd's voice no longer bother me. If he does'nt change his behaviour, the french odd can keep this voice ... adulter .

I had phasmids, but I gave them to a friend so that he could do a "tpe" ( a kind of school written toil which is mandatory ) ... and they all died :(
But you're right, the monster really looks like a phasmid .

Thanks a million for that video link kagetsu. Now I can take screenshots and make avatars, sprites, or whatever of X.A.N.A.'s new play-thing. Hehehee, this is such a great time to be a Lyoko fan! Woo-hoo! :D

None of them have a distinct accent that I can place to a region. Jeremies sounds very stuffy, like formal yet not quite. Which does match his personality. The one time I've picked an accent was when Sissi is talking to Ulrich about "being lucky to have known her before she became a star", in "End of Take" She added a little southern bell that sounded a little like a screen actress from long time ago. But y'all wouldn't have heard that.

Enjoy, indeed! What a beautiful design! He even has segmented plates on his undersurface, like any respectable insect.
-
Bon, I agree that there are no significant regional accents among the English Lyokids.
-
As for Jer, his voice sounds nerdy to me. A thick, adenoidal, complacent voice that comes from someone who is NOT any sort of athelete or bon-vivant, but a (maybe rich) intellectual, sedentary kid who spends his time twiddling with chunks of silicon or servo motors. Appropriate!
-
(Of course, I also liked Ulrich's puffy pantaloons in "Garage Kids", so don't listen to me....) :sm27:

Don't you know where I can find the english episods just to hear the different characters' voice ? And this particular accent used by sissi kagetsu was speaking about . :)

ps : thank you shadowbot for the screens of the monsters, it is really cool with his long arms and as chauve souris said, his body is similar to a real insect one . However, his head in the two last pictures is a bit strange, as if he had a noise ?!? disgust

Jeremie's voice sounds kind of like he has allergies. Like he is stuffed up . .
Hmm . . what would translate?
Runny nose, snot.
Smart people are often stereotyped as having allergies.

That was probably an intentionally imitated accent. Which fits with Sissi's character and the scene about becoming a star.

manson some people probably have sound files.
They would be easer to download and less legally questionable than full episode downloads.

After a couple days hard work, I have THIS sprite of our long-legged monster. Enjoy the view, you lucky Lyoko fans.

Also, I'm working on making more sprite-makes of this particular monster, so be watching for them. ;)

I found a better vid of the Miguzi preview to Season Two, so here's the bug, one more time in better quality. If you guys want me to make screenshots of the rest of the preview, let me know, and I shall be happy to do so. As always, enjoy! ;)

Yeah, I didn't notice in the Moonscoop film that the bike was missing a front end.
-
Note that, in that clip, Uls and the bike get creamed and crash. Seems like the bike will be automatically rebuilt and shined up for him (i.e., re-instantiated) by the next time he stops in at Lyoko?
-
Who wouldn't like that arrangement?!

I will. I missed many episodes due to my little brother and other such interruptions or screw ups, and with a DVR it’s easy to just delete one’s I’ve seen.

It's cool, but I think I'd prefer something that could fly, for more versatility.

yes you're right for the vehicule: Odd and Yumi have something which fly and so, Odd will be stronger I think. Yumi too.

Have you seen the video about second season? Which is diffuses on american TV? because you saw yumi's and Odd's vehicules?
But I think that you have.

I watched kagetsu's video clip. So Yumi's can fly too? Or does it only hover?
It’s seems reasonable Odd gets a nicer vehicle since he can’t cause things to levitate or triplicate himself.

I bet Code Lyoko comes to Miguzi US on weekdays about 5.2 weeks before Season 2 begins.

Sounds like a safe bet McT. If Season One is only playing on Sundays, then probably Season Two will play on Miguzi during the weekdays once September comes around.

Yeah, you're right. Odd's powers aren't so developped as the others.
Yes, Yumie can fly too (and I've not understand the end of the sentence  )

McTrooper a écrit: My recording has an old stupid CN advertizement with noise.

Geez, how irritating! I have discussed with our French pals about the excessive frequency and lengths of our interruptions for commercials (the French don't have any!), but I never even got around to describing those infuriating pubs across the bottom of the screen during those rare moments when the program is actually running. I call them "football ads" because they are similar to the (only) ads you get during soccer broadcasts. And they even include noisy sound effects of robots and weapons clunking, etc., drowning out the dialog of the program. That's what McT is referring to.
-
Crikey, how unfair can they get? GIVE US A FREAKIN' BREAK, EH?!
-
What makes you think you will do any better this time? They're still doing it, as heavily as ever. And, unlike the breaks, you can't edit these out. Ya can't win!

Gosh, are you saying that you not only have ad breaks, but also ads during the programs? Which cover a part of the image and add sound?? I could never have imagined that... It's a good reason to see the show in French then ;-)

By the way, where did you learn French all? At school? Isn't it a strange idea to learn French when you're in the US? ;-)

The extra adds are horribly frustrating. they usually appear about three to five minutes after the regular comercial break, a computer banner wil unfold at the bottom of the screen a character from another show will wander in and do "something", it will tell you the time to catch the other show then it will unfold. It takes up about a fith of the screen and sometimes there is sound with it. I watched one episode five times before I could hear Aelita talking about kissing Jeremie when she could be in the real world.

I can't use and understand more than a few short sentences because I only had a year of French class in school. It's difficult for Americans to learn other languages because we can't recieve foreign tv broadcasts (unless you're in the southwest states or maybe Florida for the Spanish stations), and nearly everyone from other countries that may come here have already learned a good deal of English. Then we have to choose which of the major languages to study. It usually ends up being Spanish, but if you can't practice listening to it you loose it quickly.

i just caught Teddy Gozilla (sp.?) on CN, it was the first time i've seen Code Lyoko on TV in like 7 or 8 months since it last broadcasted. it was so coooool to see it again finally !!!! i had forgotten just how mean Sissi could be, with the scene with Milly in the beginning. and i had completely forgotten what Jim's voice had sounded like; when i heard it, i kept on thinking that it was a different voice actor, but i guess that wouldn't be the case. i guess i got used to the sound of his voice in French, since i've only seen it in French all this time. and moreover, i was re-reminded of just how funny the show is, and why we like it so much and are all Lyokophiles. :D
