I have the French Mang'anim, tomes 1 and 2, and each has a pair of season-1 episodes.

tome 1: "TeddyGodzilla" and "Enragés"
-
tome 2: "Créature de Rêve" and "Crise de Rire"

They are very nice books, but very fragile -- you can't let your little brother read them.... :sm27:

Here's something else I just found: Panini
A collectable sticker set! I'm going to have to buy that. When I found this, I thought it sounded familiar. Then I remembered: I used to have Panini baseball sticker sets when I was about 6 years old! Funny how things work like that.

DS game...I would probably buy a DS just for that!! Then again, maybe not cuz I'm pretty much broke. I have to buy a new PS2 with my little brother because our broke and he'll throw a fit if I don't...Well, maybe I can talk him into a DS...

I already ordered, in a realistic estimate, about $500 of Christmas/Hannukah/Birthday stuff (my dad's so lazy he just gives me his credit card). Plus I only have $8 on me. What episodes are on it? I might buy Clone Wars instead, come February.

I don't know what episodes are on it, but it's virtually certain that they will be from season-1. Who cares? I just want the extra departments on the disc, and the packaging and inserts. To parapharase Sir Edmund Hillary, "I just want it because it's there...." Image

Hey! Good news! Code Lyoko DVD 3 is slated for a March 14, 2006 release! And according to my information, it may have a French language track with English subtitles! I don't know about you (though I can guess), but I'm excited!

Where's your information from, Rooobs? I'd think you'd need an adapter for it though...

Actually, I just searched for it on Amazon.com. It's an R1 DVD, released in North America, so there's no need for an adapter.

Rooobs, you genius you. I wonder if they got the DS game up yet. Not likely, but they got comics set for 2007 on the site. Ah, it just says subtitled. Doesn't mean it has to be in Fench, could be for the hearing-impaired like CS. I'd check the official forums for info on the episodes, but my internet's bad and I could never get the registry thing to work. Nope, no DS game yet.

Incidentally, if anyone's wondering about keys for non-R1 DVDs, I've been using one called "DVD Idle" that works perfectly, and unobtrusively. I think I had to pay for it, but if so it was well worth it. Details on request.... Image

I was hoping for a French sound track from the start. (Miyazaki's dvd's released by Disney has English, Japanese and French.)

3? the second isn't out yet is it? I should start looking I suppose.

Key?

Key: You can't play "foreign market" DVDs on ricain-purchased players, and vice-versa. It's a deliberate disability imposed on DVDs to interfere with piracy traffic. But, like gun control, it only inconveniences the law-abiding citizens, and doesn't slow down the crooks at all. Image
-
Anyhoo, DVDs are programmed in a specific "region" -- the US (or North America?) is region 1, so your region-1 DVD player (or computer) will refuse to display the French Code Lyoko DVDs, for instance, because they are branded with some other region-number. "Deliberate incompatibility" -- really brilliant, hein? While I know of no solution for DVD-reader machines, your computer can be coaxed into running other regions' DVDs via a program like DVD Idle, which transparently allows you to view DVDs from any(?) region. 'sonly fair, after all....

Oh man, those DVDs...I had to go around for hours at different Best Buys cos they don't sell Lyoko DVDs at Target, Walmart, the like. What episodes are on the second DVD, CS? I'll only go out of my way if it's really worth it.

I don't have it yet, but I'll be heading to Fry's Electronics Saturday morning... I went 2 weeks ago to try and get a copy before it was released, but it wasn't put out early due to the holiday rush. You can always order it from Amazon or some other place online. I think Suncoast should have it, too.
From what I know, the episodes on DVD 2 are Seeing is Believing, Killer Music, End of Take and Plagued.

Now, I was waiting to get into see "Narnia", so I didn't ask anyone for help, but our local Suncoast didn't have CL that I could find. Borders either. But it could depend on your area.

I'm also told the eps of Vol2 are

"Seeing is Believing"
"Killer Music"
"End of Take"
"Plagued"

End of Take is a favorite, ny first ep.
Plagued was also a fav for Yumi saving Sissi and on Lyoko Aelita. And tilting the ground was great.
Killer Music is good but not a fav, Seeing is Believing was one I could skip.

All this talk of DVDs has reminded me that I never reviewed DVD 1 on my site. I'll post a twofer when I get no. 2.

Ok, so no one can find the second DVD in stores, huh? The internet is your only hope!

GAROOOB opened the chest! Inside was CLDVD2! GAROOOB took CLDVD2.
So, included in this DVD, aside from the aforementioned episodes: Character profiles for some secondary characters (Sissi, Herve & Nicholas, Jim and Kiwee), the Holomap with the towers that have been deactivated in the 9 episodes of the two DVDs and the same music video from the first DVD, in English, with the lyrics along the bottom of the screen, a la kareoke.
I got it at Best Buy for $12.

Well, say, my troubles with CD Universe getting my DVD#2 to me, related elsewhere, appear not to be related to my random VISA number, but to the fact that they have not obtained #2 yet. They list it as "backordered". CD Univ must be pretty high on the manufacturer's priority list, so it seems likely that no one, such as the local stores, has them yet either, so it might be futile to search for it locally. [EDIT: Oooops, Rooobs has already found one -- so much for that theory....]
-
Garooob's list of the #2 episodes was correct, of course, agreeing with CD Univ's blurb. But just for the record (and this Sujet), they are:
"Seeing is Believing",
"Killer Music",
"End of Take", and
"Plagued".
Image More interestingly, CD Univ is also listing DVD#3 (!) for pre-purchase, but they show neither a list of episodes nor a copy of the cover picture, yet. The release date they show for #3 is 14 March 2006.

The appearance of the 3rd DVD bodes well for us in North America. But I wonder why there were only 2 in France.

I yam disgustipated. I'm outraged. CL DVD #2 REEKS, in my opinion!
-
Right off the starting line (after the FBI warning) before you are allowed to see the main menu, you get a lengthy advertisement for another show (My Father the Rock Star, or something like that), and you can't get around it, or even speed up through it. How insulting is that?! Then there is the characters info, limited to only Sissi, Herv and Nic together, and Kiwi (spelled wrong!), and all in almost-illegibly-small print.
-
There's the same old region "maps", and there's a "Karaoke" section on the themesong, in English, which could only be useful if you want to learn the words. And there's a section of "trailers" which I didn't dare go into for fear of never being able to get out....
-
I was so disgusted that I ran through one of the episodes fully expecting to find commercial breaks, but that didn't happen, surprisingly. Throughout navigating the disc, the illustrations of CL characters had a suspiciously blank look, as though someone was in such a hurry that they used a very low resolution on the artwork.
-
And there's nothing neat about the packaging either. No cool Aelita-cards or other goodies -- just a brochure of other Funless-imation products. Fooey!
-
My advice to those who haven't purchased one yet:
...unless you really want the four episodes, DO NOT BUY IT !!!
-
(Alternatively, you could go through my trash barrel, where you well might find one....)

miaame (in Code Lyoko Cosplay) a écrit:...I got my hands on the Code Lyoko cine-manga from Tokyopop. It's great!

Say, I just Googled off to look at a picture of your book, and it looks like it is virtually identical to my first volume of CL (en français) from Mang'anim. While the cover picture is different, the layout is identical, even to the maroon and peach spots framing the picture. And the number of pages is the same too. So, tell me already, does yours contain TWO episodes, "Teddygodzilla" and the one about the rats' swarms? If so, they are identical except for language. Image
-
And, also if so, I agree that "It's great!" Will the illustrations be any help with your costumery efforts? It looks like they should.
